Nokia may soon launch low-end Android Go phones (HT Tech)News

Several Nokia phones with Android Go spotted on WiFi Alliance

Nokia is working on several phones based on Google’s Android Go platform. The official names of these phones are not yet known, but a recent listing on Korea by Korea Testing Laboratory revealed model numbers TA-1318, TA-1320, TA-1308, TA-1312, TA-130. Now phones with the same model numbers have been certified by the Wi-Fi Alliance. The latest certification indicates the imminent launch of the new Nokia Android Go phones.

According to Nokiamob, there are eight phones in total, which include multiple versions of a phone. The new Nokia phones will run on the Android Go version of Android Q, also known as Android 10. The phones support b / g / n WiFi connectivity and 2.4 GHz WiFi frequency. The website points out that the Wi-Fi specs are quite standard for entry-level phones.

For Google, Android Go aims to bring the best of its mobile operating system to low-end phones, typically with 2GB of RAM or even less. The optimized version of Android is said to offer faster app load times, memory optimization, and a lite version of major Google apps. It also supports Google Assistant and a smarter Camera Go app.
